Energized Morning Smoothie

Start your morning with a yummy energy boost

Im baaaaack! Needed a good mental break and also I've been trying (crying) to become more crafty with my new cricut joy extra (thanks mom)!! And now I'm ready to get back to it! One way to help boost my mental energy is by starting my day with a yummy smoothie!!

Waking up early to make these is not fun BUT the amount of energy they give me at work is amazing! I looked up recipes on TikTok to get them sweet and all healthy ingredients. I keep mine pretty simple and only really mixing up the fruits I use. Prepping the night before really helps quicken the process in the morning. When I'm up early I use my normal blender and when I'm rushing I use my hand blender.

List of Ingredients

  • 1 handful or 1/2 cup of frozen fruit

  • 1 handful or 1/2 cup of fresh fruit (optional)

  • 1 handful or 1/2 cup of frozen spinach

  • 1 scoop of flavored powder (optional)

  • *measured with my soul* Vanilla almond milk or any dairy/alternative preference

  • 1 scoop of flax seeds or chia seeds or oatmeal (optional)

  • 1-2 scoops or 1 small cup of preferred yogurt

Step 1: Prepping fruit & Spinach

The best fruit for smoothies in my opinion are strawberries, mangos, pineapples, bananas, blueberries, or bags of mixed fruits. With my fresh fruit I wash, cut, and separate them. With frozen fruit I buy the small bags that are easy to reseal. The spinach is key! That's where the bulk of the energy for the day comes in. I saw a trick on TikTok, wash the spinach, put them in a freezer bag, and toss in the freezer. Makes the smoothies thick and also aids in minimizing the veggie taste. I add my fruits and veggies into the blender first.

Step 2: Adding dairy/alternative

Regular milk, silk milk, almond milk, protein milk, whatever drink you want to use will do. The sweetness really comes in with flavored yogurt. The brands stony field, oikos, and two good are my top 3. They're since they are already portioned out and have so many flavors. I add these in next.

Step 3: Adding powder, oats, or seeds

This step is optional, but highly recommended because they will actually help you feel full. Smoothies are great, but they usually lack protein which aid in keeping you full for hours. The spinach helps some, but adding in flax seeds or oatmeal help me stay full until lunch. I would only add 1 per smoothie as these are great at making sure you have healthy 💩! Lastly, I add some flavor powders because the seeds or oatmeal can dull the sweetness of the fruit and yogurt.

Now you can blend it all together & enjoy !!😋

A Healthy Ending

Honestly, Dunkin Donuts had me in a chokehold, and some days still does. It's on the way to work, sooo convient. But I still needed a coffee, energy drink, splash of cold water, anything to keep me up and refreshed after. Looking at my bank statement was enough for me! I could feel the results just after 1 day, I was on my way to doing cartwheels in the halls at work! My skin also extremely benefited from the spinach! Trying my best to stay in my healthy girl era ✨ Try them out for a week and let me know how it goes!! Until next post!
